I've seen first-hand what the power of shifting a few things in our brand (& mindset) can do for a business.
Sometimes change is hard. Always it brings up feelings. Usually it grows you further into who you need to be, and how you can show up in the world.
Hey Friend, I’m Shannon.
I've been a business owner for almost 20 years. I've had times of flourishing and times of struggle.
I can think of the time I invested in a trade show (for my then portrait business) that turned out to be run by a con-woman (it's a long story).
I can think of the time I severely undercharged on a project (fast-forward to my full-service creative firm days) and it took waaaay more time than I expected.
I can also think of the time I realized the scary but freeing truth that if I wanted clients I loved to work with, who would be excited to pay me what my time & talent was worth...
...I needed to put that brand (& those rates) out into the world.
And sure enough, I started making 3x more per client (& drawing people who were in awe of my work, amazing to work with, and not just price-shopping). Turns out the advice that felt wild and crazy was just practical and true.
that was one small shift, in my journey of many adjustments and a few big pivots.
So today I want to encourage you, Big-Hearted Entrepreneur.
If you feel like you've been doing "all the things" and still not seeing freeing results, I need you to believe that sometimes it's just a few shifts that make all the difference.
Maybe big ones (like a full-blown business pivot). Maybe small ones (like a change in your offer or pricing or online presence).
Now those shifts might take some deep-digging to uncover (often we can't see what's keeping us stuck).
And yes, the changes might sound easy on paper. But (hand-raised!) we know they come with very real fear, mixed-emotions, and in-decision that we need help working through.
Why?
often because we're mixing up the difference between serving others well and people-pleasing.
Anyone else feel that one?
But once you can uncover these small shifts in your business and make the changes... it's like your eyes have been opened!
(And also those perfect clients that feel like a dream suddenly begin to see, really see, your business.)
I was on a call with one of my 1-on-1 clients...
...and we did her mid-point review.
And Friend, it was such a genuine reminder... this stuff, these shifts in your brand, marketing, and thinking… these making of small shifts (that sometimes turn into bigger ones)… they WORK.
In a series of 10 questions -- areas of her business she had previously ranked at a 2-3 -- she was now SOARING in... ranking them an 8-10.
Areas related to clients, joy, clarity, time-savings, profit planning, marketing clarity, more.
Just 3 months into our time together.
She said something like: "Shannon, if I had JUST worked with you years ago it would have saved me thousands upon thousands of dollars and so much struggle."
She has gone from feeling stressed, tired, worn down, and stuck...
...to getting PAID MORE for DOING LESS (with a fresh plan and freeing boundaries).
You could see the freedom and joy in her face.
And that was all before she had even made any tweaks to her actual visual brand identity.
Some shifts happen quickly. Some take time.
Time is a good, growth-fueling thing to lean into.
Yet so often putting yourself in a place of mentorship, clarity, or accountability can fast-forward that time.
When you intentionally put yourself in a situation with a coach or group where you can trust the process -- you can feel the relief of having a clear path to follow. (Like our 8 month program for female solopreneurs, for instance, The Small Business Bay; though you absolutely should find a mentor and/or program that feels aligned for you).
Doing this brand strategy work I love doesn’t just help you “fix” your brand story and marketing path. It exposes those SMALL SHIFTS.
It uncovers things you couldn't otherwise see.
It reveals the need for tiny changes or big pivots.
And when it's done well -- it's like your business turns into a magnet... for the right people, at the right time.
It opens up doors into what’s POSSIBLE for you and your business.
And even better, as you lean into more of what you are equipped, gifted in, or even called to do, you get the joy of creating an even bigger IMPACT in the world. What an amazing ripple effect of simply putting yourself in a position to be open to change, right?
And are you feeling the tug into something new for your business, Friend?
We have several ways to help you find abundant transformation in your business…
But right now I want to highlight something timely:
