Business Growth Even In the Hard | Encouragement for Female Solopreneurs

I want to tell you, Big-Hearted Female Entrepreneur, that it's possible to grow your business, even in hard or challenging life circumstances.

Here's the thing...

Life just keeps happening.

We're in one season, then the next.

Kids need us, parents need us, pets need us, our bank account needs us, our health needs us...

Sometimes in small ways. Sometimes in big.

Trust me when I say, I've been through some pretty big challenges in the past few years. (And so have the women inside our incubator, The Small Business Bay).

For me a little bit of that's looked like...

Weighing business shifts in a changing marketplace (Spoiler alert: it’s always changing, Friends!)

Supporting my parents (and care-taking regularly) through declining health

Working through mental health healing from a traumatic car accident

Getting one kid (and now almost another) off to college -- which is more than just a project, it's a deep process of letting go (even when you're excited for them and they're ready to thrive!)

I don't know what you're going through, Female Solopreneur Friend...

...but I can almost guarantee it's something, big or small.

  • Being sleep-deprived from raising littles

  • Prioritizing your health

  • Walking a friend through a hard time

  • Hurtful relationships

  • Overcoming family or financial hardships

  • Feeling stuck or dealing with burn-out

And when we face hard things... sometimes we just want to stop. To freeze. To hit pause.

And certainly... we have to prioritize. And make sure we're present where needed. And taking care of ourselves.

But this doesn't mean we have to put big dreams on the back-burner.

Why?

Because sometimes pursuing those big dreams alongside hard life things directly infuses us with the purpose & joy we need to keep going strong!

(Read that again, Friend). 💙

Sure, maybe it's slower.

(I've definitely had to slow way down at points).

And that's ok.

But it's oh, so possible!

Especially when you have people (like my team inside The Small Business Bay and me) reminding you that "You're not behind, you're exactly where you need to be."

And to keep going, one baby step at a time. The little steps add up to the BIG, life-changing ones!

Because being a CEO is A LOT sometimes! And we need resources and support systems in place.

Here's to you pursuing your big dreams (and leaning into your meaning WHY's) going forward, like never before.

I'm here for you too.

Cheering you on!

With Purpose & Joy!

-Shannon
