Some things we do in business are methods, right? We try this or that. Someone’s idea or someone else’s. And that’s great. I’m a firm believer that there is MORE THAN ONE WAY to do business and marketing, and it’s wonderful that we get the chance to lean in to ones that best suit our personality, gifts, and schedule.
But some things just work. They’re like science. They come through for us.
So why don’t we do them all the time? Great question.
Here are 3 Statistics that might just make you completely re-think the way you do business.
1. Go ahead girl, give yourself a 95% chance of success…
In a world where small businesses fail at the rate of 50-75%, did you know that it’s possible to set yourself up for a 95% chance of business success? If you knew there was a way to have a 95% chance to succeed at doing what you’re passionate about, you’d do it right?
Well, you can. And it’s not even crazy-hard, but it does take commitment. The answer? Accountability.
Statistics show that meeting REGULARLY with an accountability partner or group makes you 95% likely to see success as a business. Boom!!

2. TWICE as many social media shares? Yes please!
One study (analyzing over 1 million articles mind you, so not to be taken lightly!) found that articles with an image once every 75-100 words received DOUBLE the social media shares as articles with fewer images. DOUBLE. Woo-hoo!
Keep in mind, 75 words is not that many… a short paragraph, like a handful of sentences. So your takeaway? You need more visuals… consistent, on-brand ones mind you… in your emails and blogs. Because having people share them is, well, a powerful (& totally free!!) business marketing tool.
In addition to your brand photos (or instead of if you haven’t quite gotten to a custom photo shoot yet), utilize well-curated stock images that will appeal to your audience and give off the right emotional vibe.

3. Get Your Audience to buy (the rule of 7… with a twist)
It’s time to perfect the art of the perfect number!
Remember that time when you launched something new (or maybe the company you’re selling for did)? And you thought it was great, and so you emailed your audience about it, posted about it once or twice, and then emailed about it even again… and NOBODY bought it? Yeah, that time. I think we all can relate.
This is the thing… it might actually be a really amazing product or service you have to offer. And you might actually be the right kinda person your audience wants to buy from (even better! go brand strategy plan!). But the truth is, your audience has to interact with you and your message (in a consistent kinda way) AT LEAST 7 times before they’ll open their wallet.
And since the world of online marketing is, well, a little distracting at times, even if you email or post 7 whole times, your audience is likely only seeing things about 1/3 of the time. So let’s just make up our own statistic here, shall we? (I realize that negates the science part a bit, but go with me). Let’s just say 21 times is a better goal for getting your message out than even 7.
I know. 21 times is A LOT. Right? Marketing is not for the faint of heart! Which is why you need more than one platform to do it on (you don’t have to juggle #allthethings -- but find at least 2-3 platforms to have a voice consistently on) — and know that it’s ok to repeat yourself — you can re-post parts of your email to Facebook, and Facebook to Instagram for instance.
The way to do this with ease, in an un-salesey kinda way? Find fun, friendly, brand-magnetizing mini-points about your product or service that will perk the ears of your audience and have them asking for more.

Lesson from this one? Don’t give up. You’re likely doing pretty darn well, you might just need to be doing WAY more of it to get the actual needle to move in your income stream!
