For Modeling & Fashion:

How long will my session take?

A headshot session will take approximately an hour to an hour and a half once you account for hair & makeup, shooting time, and viewing/checkout.  Multi-look sessions (such as 3 to 4 looks/outfits) may take up to three and a half hours, especially if we are shooting in-studio as well as outside, with makeup changes in between.  Please allow plenty of time so you don’t feel rushed.  Also there may be others shooting directly before or after you, so you may want to bring a book/magazine to read if there is downtime.

When will I see my images?  And how many will you take?

For headshot sessions we often look at the images immediately following.  Together we’ll select the one or two that best market you.  It will then go through retouching within a week or two and your final images will be emailed to you within two to three weeks, often sooner.  If we are unable to view them immediately following, an online gallery will be sent later on.

For shoots that include multi-looks, you will receive an online gallery featuring your images approximately 7 to 10 days after your session.  You may save your favorites in the gallery and together we’ll decide which ones best market you.  Depending on what we shot and how you need to use them, we may also schedule an appointment to review your images in person and select what you want to use on a comp card.

For any given shoot, you are likely to see 20 to 30 images per outfit.  We will shoot 40 to 100 per outfit and narrow it down to the best for you to review.  We are happy to help you decide which ones are most marketable for the type of modeling you are involved in or trying to pursue.

What should I wear?

The clothing you choose to shoot in is very important.  When you book your shoot, we’ll give you a handout helping you with this process.   Clothing can vary from simple to high-fashion based on the type of look you’re going for, but generally should be current and in well kept fabrics.  Once you arrive, we’ll look through all of the clothing you’ve brought and finalize your outfits.  The studio has a rack that includes various wardrobe pieces and accessories that we may mix in as well.

What about my hair & makeup?

All photo shoots for teens and adults (age 13+) include a professional hair and makeup artist.  We recommend you arrive with clean simple hair in the way you’d normally wear it, but with little to no product.  This gives the artist a fresh start.  We also recommend you arrive clean-faced and let the makeup artist work from there.  You may want to bring your own makeup or styling tools along if there is something you’re especially fond of, but generally the makeup artist will have everything she needs.  For children 12 & under, please do your best with their hair ahead of time and we can tweak together once you’re here.  If you want to add a hair & makeup artist to your child’s session, please ask about this option.

What do I get with my shoot?  How do I share the images with others?

All of the photo shoots include your session time, the photographer’s time and talent, the hair and makeup artist fee, artistic editing done to your images following, and an online gallery or image review appointment.  Sessions also include a specific number of final, naturally-retouched images, that you can use to market yourself.  Comp Cards are available with various packages, and prints for your portfolio may be purchased separately if you want them.  Adding all of your un-retouched images on CD is also an option, and is included with some of the packages.

You will receive your final, finished images as jpgs, either via email or on CD.  They are full sized, print-ready jpgs that you can print, send to agents and clients, or use on agency websites or social media pages to promote yourself.  You will have shared-rights to these images to use for print or web use to market yourself.

When & how do I pay?

A $50 to $100 deposit is due to hold your session date.  This is non-refundable, but completely transferable to another session date if you need to reschedule with enough notice given.  The balance of your photo shoot fee can then be paid all at your photo shoot date.  Or you can split it up into half at your photo shoot and half once your images are ready to be sent or picked-up (about two weeks later).  Payment is accepted by cash, check, or all major credit cards.

Once you book your shoot, we will provide you with additional information to prepare. Please let us know if you have further questions about your session day.
